Stafford Board Holds 2023 Organizational Meeting

The Stafford Board of Supervisors held its annual organizational meeting on January 3, 2023. The purpose of the meeting is to elect a new Chairman and Vice Chairman, assign committee members and appoint members of the public to boards, authorities, committees and commissions. Dr. Pamela Yeung, Garrisonville District, was selected by her fellow Board members to serve as Chairman. Dr. Yeung is the first Black person voted in as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors in Stafford's history. The Vice Chairman is Tom Coen of the George Washington District.  

“I have a background in transformational leadership and I look forward to using my skills to unite the Board and staff in moving forward with shared goals,” said Chairman Pamela Yeung, Garrisonville District. “At the end of the day, we are here to serve. I want to ensure we are providing the best levels of service to our residents.”

Dr. Pam Yeung is in her second year of service on the Board of Supervisors having served as Vice Chairman in 2022. Dr. Yeung previously served on the Stafford County School Board and as a commission on the Stafford County Telecommunications Commission. Supervisor Coen started serving on the Board in 2018 and served as Vice Chairman in 2020.

The Board is comprised of seven returning members. In addition to Yeung and Coen, members include: Tinesha Allen, Griffis-Widewater District; Meg Bohmke, Falmouth District;  Monica Gary, Aquia District; Darrell English, Hartwood District; and Crystal Vanuch, Rock Hill District.
