Ride the VRE Free in September

The Virginia Railway Express (VRE) is asking all commuters who have been hesitant to ride since the Coronavirus epidemic to reconsider in September. VRE passengers will ride free during the month of September. You can bring your full-size bicycle on the train if you need it!

The free rides are system-wide on VRE service across Virginia. Another incentive to ride the VRE is free parking at most VRE stations. It is free at Stafford’s two VRE stations – Brooke Station, 1721 Brooke Road, and the Leeland Road Station, 275 Leeland Road. There are many parking spaces, with 727 parking spaces at Brooke and 1,029 parking spaces at Leeland Road. The platforms are ADA accessible, with entrance ramps.

It is also easy to buy VRE tickets. You can purchase tickets and passes instantly on your smartphone, order them online, purchase them at station vending machines with cards, pick them up at sales outlets or buy them through your employer. For more info, visit www.vre.og.
