January 3, 2022 - Update at 5:30 pm –
Due to inclement weather, Stafford County will close tomorrow, January 4, 2022. This closure also includes the General, Circuit and JDR Courts along with the landfill (R-Board).
Out of an abundance of caution and safety for all individuals, we ask people seeking shelter to STAY-IN-PLACE. VDOT needs as many people to stay off the roads so that public safety and utility crews can reach those in need and begin to restore power. Please stay off the roads unless it is absolutely necessary as the County looks to provide more resources tomorrow with more accessible roads available. The National Weather Service states that tonight will drop to the low 20s, with Dominion Power reporting that it may take multiple days to restore power to everyone.
Lastly, the Board of Supervisor Planning Meeting scheduled for January 4, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. has been rescheduled to January 11, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. Again, we ask for everyone’s patience and know that we are working hard to get through this event together.
Update at 8:20 a.m. - The Regional Landfill will close at 9:00 a.m.
