Mr. Dudenhefer was elected by his fellow Board members to serve as the 2019 Vice Chairman. He is on the Community and Economic Development Committee and the Infrastructure Committee.
Mr. Dudenhefer also serves as the Board's appointee on the Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization.
Mr. Dudenhefer and his wife, Kay, live in Stafford, VA, and are parents to 3 children – Chris and Rebecca who reside in Stafford with their families, and Emily who tragically passed as a result of an accident in 2004. They also have five grandchildren.
After graduating from Louisiana State University with a degree in Economics, Mr. Dudenhefer joined the Marine Corps, where he eventually retired at the rank of Colonel. He also has an MBA from Tulane University and a Masters in Computer Information Systems from University of Phoenix.
In his 30 years as a Marine Corps officer, Mr. Dudenhefer managed multi-million dollar budgets and led teams in Public Administration and Personnel Management. He recently retired from his work as a defense contractor in Northern Virginia.
Prior to being elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 2011, Mark Dudenhefer served on the Stafford County Board of Supervisors from 2005-2011. He served in 2010 and 2011 as Chairman of the Stafford Board of Supervisors. He later served another term in the House of Delegates from 2016-2017.
Mark is very active in the Stafford community as a member of his church, a founding member of the Colonial Forge High School PTSA and as a prior motivational speaker for the Partnership for Safe Teen Driving. He and Kay established a scholarship program for high school students in their daughter Emily’s name.
In addition, Mark has served on many community boards and commissions in the past, including: Stafford Armed Services Memorial Commission, George Washington Regional Commission, Quantico Growth Management Committee, Fredericksburg Regional Jail Authority, and the Central Rappahannock Regional Library Board.
