Stafford County Extending Building Closures to the Public through June 10, 2020

Stafford County officials have decided to extend the closure of all County buildings to the public through June 10, 2020, to align with Governor Ralph Northam’s Executive Order #55, the stay-at-home order. Plans to reopen could be adjusted if the Governor revises his date. In the interim, the County plans to reintegrate the availability of in-person services as conditions allow, and will inform the public once those plans have been established. Stafford County continues to provide services to residents online and, as always, by phone. Please visit for all updates, assistance and information related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We all want to get back to our normal operating schedule, but we believe it is essential and the best plan for the safety of staff and the public to follow the Governor’s guidelines,” said County Administrator Tom Foley. “This is a very fluid situation. We appreciate the public’s patience as we move towards an eventual full reopening; keeping in mind that Stafford County continues to provide services to our community through this period.”

Stafford County outdoor parks are open. More information may be found at We also encourage you to purchase gift cards and order takeout meals from our great restaurants and local businesses, which need community support during this time of so many closings. Please continue to practice the social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19 along with proper hygiene, wearing a face covering, and frequently cleaning surfaces such as countertops and door handles.
