Update: Monday, September 30, 2019
During a VDOT safety inspection, some deficiencies were uncovered on the Brooke Road Safety Improvement Project prompting Stafford County and the project contractor to address the issues immediately to provide the level of safety Stafford County desires for motorists. Unfortunately, this will delay the reopening of Brooke Road planned for tomorrow, October 1, 2019. The safety of citizens is a priority for Stafford County, which is why Stafford and VDOT are working with the contractor to correct the remaining issues as soon as possible and will keep the public updated, as information is available. The entire construction project is still scheduled to be completed by March 2020.
