Stafford County Electoral Board Public Notice

The final day for in-person absentee voting is Saturday, June 8, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the General Registrar’s Office on the first floor of the George L. Gordon, Jr., Government Center, 1300 Courthouse Road, Stafford, VA 22554.

The Electoral Board will meet beginning Monday, June 10, 2019, at 8:00 a.m. in the General Registrar’s Office on the first floor of the George L. Gordon, Jr., Government Center, 1300 Courthouse Road, Stafford, VA 22554. The purpose of the meeting is to appoint Officers of Election and review election preparations.

The Election will be held in most precincts June 11, 2019, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

No ballot(s) will be available to voters in the Widewater (302) Precinct. There are no General Assembly seats where Primaries were selected by the political parties. 

There are no races on the ballot in 302.

The Electoral Board will meet Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at noon in Conference Room ABC of the George L. Gordon, Jr., Government Center, 1300 Courthouse Road, Stafford, VA 22554. The purpose of this meeting will be to canvass the vote.

The canvass may continue as needed to complete the Provisional Ballots Meeting with the time and date to be determined but shall begin no later than noon on Friday, June 14, 2019, in the General Registrar’s Office on the first floor of the George L. Gordon, Jr., Government Center, 1300 Courthouse Road, Stafford, VA 22554.

The Canvass continues at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019 for the production and signing of the Official Abstracts in the General Registrar’s Office on the first floor of the George L. Gordon, Jr., Government Center, 1300 Courthouse Road, Stafford, VA 22554.

NOTE: Once convened, the Electoral Board will remain in session and will recess from time to time, for a date and time certain, to complete the requirements of the election and to properly conduct and conclude other business required by the Code of the Commonwealth or the State Department of Elections, in finalizing the election, the fiscal year, and any old or unfinished business from this and prior meetings. Portions of this meeting – beginning Monday, June 10 until their final adjournment for FY19 – may include Closed Sessions as allowed by VFOIA §2.2-3711(A)(1, 7 & 8) and/or §24.2-653.
