General Juror Information
Jurors are selected from voter registrations and the Department of Motor Vehicles at random for each court term. Jury payment is set out of the Code of Virginia, Section 17.1-618, which sets the fee for jurors at $30 per day.
If you have received a jury questionanaire, please fill it out and send back in the enclosed envelope or visit our website at https://staffordjury.vacourts.gov
If requesting an exemption for jury duty, please provide a written excuse and include your badge number, if possible.
You may call (540) 658-4636, #5 after 6pm, for jury duty line to check for service needed for next day OR you may login to https://staffordjury.vacourts.gov. You will need your badge number and birthdate to log in.

No bare shoulders, no shorts, no flip-flops and no T-shirts with slogans. You may want to bring a light jacket or sweater, as the courtroom may be quite cool.
Jurors will be given time for lunch each day. There is a deli across the street and other fast food establishments wihtin a short driving distrance or you may bring a lunch. Please be advised some cases have the potential to run ito the evening, prepare accordingly.
Cell phones are permissible during the breaks, but jurors are required to turn cell phones off during court. Advise the Secruity desk that you are a Juror and you will be allowed to bring in your cell phone. Please keep in mind, you will be passing through security, leave all unnecessary items (pocket knives, mace, etc.) at home.
On Your Day of Service
Once Secruity is aware you are a Juror, they will direct you to the Jury Assembly Room on the lower level.
