State & Federal Taxes

As the Coronavirus, also know as  COVID-19, continues to be a growing concern across our community and country, the Stafford County Commissioner of Revenue Office will be closed to the public effective March 17th through May 1st.   

We encourage citizens to submit their state income tax returns via mail to:

The Commissioner's staff assists Stafford residents in filing their Virginia estimated and annual income tax returns. To request assistance, please call (540) 658-4132 ext.1136 or visit the office at 1300 Courthouse Road.

Important Deadlines:
April 15 - Federal income tax filing deadline
May 1 - Virginia state income tax filing deadline

Checks or money orders should be made payable to the Treasurer of Stafford County.
