* VDOT to improve traffic flow at Cool Springs Road (SR-607) and Kings Highway (SR-3)
Work begins - May 2, 2017 - Tuesday - 9:00 PM 
* New pavement markings will create safer turning environment - shorten traffic backups - result in more efficient signal operations - allow drivers to access left turn lanes from both lanes on Cool Springs Road.  
* There will be no change to the existing far right lane movement.  
* Motorists should expect brief delays on Cool Springs Road near the intersection during the daylight hours. 

Transportation Engineering Division within the Public Works Department is Responsible for:
  • Managing the County's Transportation Projects (major road improvements) including PPTA (Public-Private Transportation Act) Projects
  • Administering the County's Transportation Fund
  • Facilitating the County's Transportation Bond Program
  • Facilitating the County's Transportation Impact Fee Program
  • Maintaining Performance Agreements between Developers & the County for Streets
  • Posting & Releasing of Securities for Roadway Components of Site Development
  • Review of Roads & Drainage Components of Construction & Site Plans for Commercial & Residential Developments
  • Facilitating the County's RTMP (Residential Traffic Management Plan)
  • Facilitating the County's Transportation Service Districts
  • Maintaining the County's Transportation Plan
  • Maintaining Green & White Street Name Signs
  • The Division is the Liaison for the County & VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation) Local Residency
